My Story
I’m Laera— a travel, food and shopping enthusiast, and quiet seeker of the moments that make life feel alive.
For more than twelve years, I served as a hospice social worker, walking alongside individuals and their families through some of life’s most sacred and difficult chapters. Then, in 2020, everything shifted. In the span of three years, I lost both of my parents and my beloved fur baby, Penny. The weight of grief, layered with the isolation of the pandemic, left me searching for something different—a way to live with more light, more space, more breath.
I stepped away from the work I had known, and for a time, I found myself in a new role—as a stock trader. It taught me patience, risk, and how to read the currents of uncertainty. But the pull of the open road never left me.
Now, I’m answering it.
Sometimes it’s just me, a carry-on, and my other passport. Sometimes it’s me, my dog Max, and Ashley—my Honda Passport —rolling toward whatever horizon calls. We wander the quiet trails, the busy city streets, the open coastlines, collecting stories along the way.
This space is where I share them—with words, with photos, with the little truths found between point A and point B.
🌿 From trailhead to terminal, road to runway—this is our journey.
